Administrative Officer’s Employee Training and Development Education Incentive Fund

Are you currently a Level 2, 3, 4 or 5 Administrative Officer with Queensland Health and need some financial help to undertake a formal qualification? You may be eligible for an incentive fund offered by Queensland Health.

What is the Administrative Officer’s Employee Training and Education Incentive Fund?

Administered by Cunningham Centre (Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service), Queensland Health is providing funding assistance, of up to $1,800 for eligible Administration Officers (AO2, AO3, AO4 and AO5) to help them gain a qualification under the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) which is relevant to their current role. This qualification must be completed through a Registered Training Organisation, such as Dolph Business School.

Permanent AO2, AO3, AO4 and AO5 employees are eligible to apply, and temporary AO2, AO3, AO4 and AO5 employees who have been continuously employed for more than 12-months with no breaks in service may also apply. According to the terms, an employee may only apply once under each Enterprise Bargaining agreement and funding is not available for qualifications already completed prior to the approval date.

What can I study?

Your choice of qualification should be relevant to your position and something that interests you. For instance, you may choose to undertake study in:

  • administration
  • finance
  • human resources
  • management
  • occupational health and safety
  • procurement
  • project management
  • training
  • or another field relevant to your role.

Once you have chosen your field of study, you will then need to decide the level of qualification you wish to complete – certificate, diploma, advanced diploma or degree level qualification.

How do I apply?

Once you have chosen a qualification and the training provider you would like to undertake the training with, discuss your plans with your Line Manager. You will need their support before commencing your application for this funding.

Once you have received verbal approval from your Line Manager, you will need to complete an expression of interest form. When you have completed the form, you will need to submit it to [email protected].

Only 180 places per year will be offered for eligible employees so make sure to speak to your Line Manager about your interest in apply for this fund sooner rather than later!
