It was previously known as Job Services Australia, but it was recently re-branded to what we now know as JobActive! The new name rolls off your tongue much easier.

The JobActive website has so many useful features for both employers and job seekers alike. For instance, for employers, JobActive can:

• refer potential employees to your business who are ready for the real work environment;
• provide support after your new employee commences work; and
• provide wage subsidies for eligible job seekers – to the Indigenous, mature aged candidates (those over 50 years old), those who have been unemployed for the long term, applicants under 30 years old, or if you are a parent.

The platform is so easy to use and registering an Employer or a Job Seeker account takes less than 2 minutes! And, if you are looking for a job, JobActive can provide eligible job seekers with access to tailored help from a JobActive provider based on their needs and requirements. This could include:

• providing help to look for work;
• resume and interview assistance;
• referrals to jobs in your local area
• training that is suited to the skills that local employers seek
• your very own Case Manager to help you look for that right role; and
• support to complete Work for the Dole or other eligible activities to provide you with work-like experiences to improve your chances of finding a job.

It truly is an amazing platform! With our youth unemployment rate in Australia increasing from 12% in March 2016, to 12.28% in April 2016. And full-time employment losing 6,400 jobs in April, services like JobActive is ever so needed to help us get that J.O.B.!
